Podium Podcast

On-demand digital audio podcasting. PRISA RADIO led the way for this initiative in the Spanish-speaking world and is the leading radio operator with a global impact in this sphere. Its product portfolio of fiction and non-fiction content has brought together top authors, artists and directors from Spain and Latin America. This initiative received an Ondas Award.

PRISA RADIO

Transforming the LOS40 strategy to a brand – in the medium and long term – for both analogue and digital radio, with an emphasis on diversifying content and entertainment. Launch of the new brand.

During his time as CEO of PRISA RADIO and as International Managing Director of PRISA RADIO, Mexico, Colombia and Chile reached record numbers of listeners for both analogue and digital radio, making them the three most profitable Grupo PRISA media companies.

The SER radio network consolidated its historical leading position in Spain of audiences for spoken radio and music radio, both for analogue and digital.


2015
Albavisión and PRISA RADIO

The radio companies of these two groups in Argentina were successfully merged, becoming the second radio operator in that market with regard to audiences and turnover.

PRISA BRAND SOLUTIONS

In Spain, the sales teams of EL PAÍS, Cinco Días, AS, Cadena SER (SER, LOS40, Dial, M80, etc.), digital properties and the GDM third-party portfolio were successfully merged.

Support was given to the newspaper EL PAÍS to create its line of international events together with the main governments of Latin America, serving as a platform for communicating important achievements such as: the Peace Agreement Referendum in Colombia, and the Mexican government reforms of President Peña Nieto.

Redesign and implementation of new brand architecture for Grupo PRISA, updating its strategic vision, and the creation of new categories: PRISA MÚSICA, PRISA DEPORTES, PRISA EVENTOS, etc.

During his time as International Managing Director, and then as CEO of PRISA RADIO, support was given and business development was carried out for the sports newspaper AS in Latin America and the USA, from the creation of their editorial offices to sales and marketing models in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and the USA.

Launch of the Santillana Foundation in São Paulo. Establishment of the advisory board with Nélida Piñón, Fernando Henrique Cardoso, José Sarney, Paulo Renato Souza, Juan Arias, Cristovam Buarque.

Richmond Publishing, Brazil

Just six years after its launch, Grupo Santillana’s imprint for teaching English in public and private schools became the indisputable leader, reaching a market share of 25%.

Editora Objetiva

Acquired by Grupo Santillana in 2003, it has become a leading publishing house in the general interest publishing sector, and the platform from which the imprint Alfaguara was launched on the Brazilian market. Today, Objetiva is part of Companhia das Letras, from the Penguin Random House group.


2001
Editora Moderna, Brazil

Acquired by Grupo Santillana in March 2001, its public schools market share was 7%, and 14% in private schools. In 2007, its public schools market share reached 37.5%, and 25% in private schools. In 2008, it produced 65 million books and became the most profitable company for Grupo Santillana and Grupo PRISA.

Lei de Desoneração da Pis e da Cofins

Coordination of the law to eliminate indirect taxes on books together with the Câmara Brasileira do Livro, Sindicato Nacional dos Editores de Livros and Associação Brasileira do Livro Didático, and with the Brazilian Congress and the Ministries of Education, Culture and Finance.


Prêmio Vivaleitura

Together with the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) and the Brazilian Ministry of Culture, the Fundação Santillana spearheaded this initiative to encourage reading. An important database of projects to encourage reading all over Brazil was established and consolidated, and the annual Prêmio Vivaleitura award was launched.

Six years after being founded in 2000, it had become the indisputable leading publisher of textbooks on the Bolivian market.
During this period, the following brands were launched: Alfaguara, Taurus and Aguilar, energising the market of general interest publications of that country.
